Sunshine Adventures Summer Camp
Rhenish’s Sunshine Adventures is a summer camp for children ages 4 to 12. We start the day with a Bible lesson before separating into stations for math, coding, literacy, science experiments, arts & crafts, fitness, and games—relating to the weekly theme. While this year’s summer camp was adapted to Zoom, we hope we can see you next summer in-person!
Check out the 2020 summer camp highlights below!
Week 1: Going Green
Grow your own plants and create nature crafts while learning about God’s creation and how to protect our earth. Guest-starring our furry, feathered, and shelled friends!
Week 2: Inventor’s Workshop
Let your creativity shine by building your own cardboard robots, solo cup parachutes, popsicle stick catapults, and other inventions while learning about the armour of God that He made to protect us from danger.
Week 3: Hawaiian Hullabaloo
For our beach-themed week, we bring sand, seashells, and a tropical paradise to your home as we learn all about Heaven. We make DIY aquariums, learn about sea creatures, conduct water experiments, and handcraft our own version of Hawaiian leis.
Week 4: Out Of This World
Exploring the trillions of galaxies, stars, and planets that God created, including the one we call home. We learn that the sun is big and powerful just like God! We make solar system mobiles, rockets, and alien friends while learning about gravity, telescopes, and the Big Bang theory.
Week 5: You Are Special
Learn about the amazing human body, how it works, and all that it does for us. From dancing to DIY stress balls and fruits and veggies to the fruit of the Spirit, we focus on taking care of ourselves and others. Featuring a guest speaker from the Markham Public Library who shows us all the online resources available to kids for the upcoming school year.
